Join Dr Hamid Pourasiabi at CAMS2024 on 4–6 December 2024 as he and his PhD student give presentations on the latest developments in high chromium (HiCr) products.

The CAMS2024 (Combined Australian Materials Societies) conference is the most significant technical/scientific event in Australia in the field of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering. As many as 300–400 participants are expected to attend this year’s event.

Molycop Senior Tribology Engineer Dr Hamid Pourasiabi will present at the event as part of the ‘Tribology & Wear’ symposia. He will be joined by his PhD student, who has also been invited to present. 

The titles of the presentations are:

  • 'Mapping the effect of chemical composition of high chromium white cast irons on their abrasive wear performance'
  • 'Machine learning approach for predicting the hardness of high chromium white cast irons'.

Dr Hamid Pourasiabi is a materials engineer with more than 14 years professional engineering, research, development and teaching experience. He has specialist expertise in characterisation of materials; (standard and non-standard) evaluation of mechanical, tribological and physical performance of materials; ferrous/physical metallurgy; foundry and casting; wear, tribology and abrasion science; alloy design; and heat treatment.

CAMS 2024 is part of an ongoing series of meetings that are the product of the cooperation between two eminent materials professional societies in Australia: Materials Australia (MA) and the Australian Ceramic Society (ACS).

This year’s event will be held at The University of South Australia.
