Recently, we had the privilege of hosting a customised training program for our long-term partner, Gold Fields, at their Cerro Corona mining unit in Peru. Gold Fields invited us to conduct an in-depth ‘SAG and Conventional Grinding Training Program’ for their team, showcasing our collaborative approach and dedication to empowering the professionals who are shaping the future of the mining industry.

Tailored training for enhanced performance

The two-day training session at Cerro Corona was designed to provide comprehensive insights into key grinding concepts, troubleshooting and best practices in both SAG (semi-autogenous grinding) and conventional grinding processes. More than 40 members of the Cerro Corona team participated, receiving hands-on instruction from our technical experts to improve their operational efficiency and refine their approach to mineral grinding.

Led by César Poma, Molycop’s Technical Applications Lead, with the support of Boris Sullcahuaman and Jesús Bernal from our Peru Applications Team, the training covered a range of essential topics, from optimising grinding efficiency to reducing operational bottlenecks. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, the Molycop team helped participants understand how to improve grinding performance, troubleshoot common challenges and implement best practices for mineral processing.
