C2 Meter online carbon measurement, from Mintek, helps improve gold recovery by optimising carbon movement control and carbon concentration.
A critical parameter in the efficient operation of Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) and Carbon-in-Pulp (CIP) processes is the accurate measurement and control of carbon concentration. The C2 Meter allows quick setup, easy installation and calibration as opposed to traditional manual measurement methods, which can be irregular, time consuming and often inaccurate. This can lead to poor carbon management in the circuit and less than optimal gold recovery.
The C² Meter comprises an immersion probe and associated control panel. The probe contains a matched transmitter/receiver pair of piezoelectric (PZT) ceramic transducers to continuously measure the carbon concentration using ultrasound. The instrument is robust and has high availability.
It’s supplied with a 100-240 VAC power supply, a 4 to 20 mA output, an error output relay and one 4 to 20 mA optional density meter input.
The C2 Meter can be used together with the Carbon Transfer Controller to reduce gold losses. The controller is part of Leachstar, Mintek’s advanced control suite specifically designed for gold circuits.
