Molycop supports industry’s leading lights
Asgari was one of two students sponsored by Molycop this year, with sponsorship covering the students’ travel, accommodation and conference registration expenses. Molycop sponsored two events at this year’s conference, with proceeds going towards the student scholarship program.
Molycop is a title sponsor of the annual Mineral Processing Division (MPD) Scotch Nightcap. It’s also a supporting sponsor of the SME MPD luncheon, which honours industry professionals and division members.
Geoffrey Veytia, Molycop Regional Commercial Manager, said both events offered a valuable opportunity to recognise industry leaders, as well as support engineering students who show immense promise:
All proceeds [from the events] go towards the MPD Student Scholarship Fund, which awards varying scholarships to more than a dozen students in both graduate and undergraduate programs.
Being able to provide financial assistance to students, specifically metallurgical/mineral processing engineering students, alleviates some of their financial stresses as well as differentiates us from other suppliers.
