Make An EnquiryFroth flotation is a physiochemical process that separates particles based on differences in surface wettability. Chemical treatments are applied selectively to alter mineral surfaces so they have the necessary properties to permit separation.
Molycop offers frothers, collectors and modifiers that enable the extraction of valuable minerals:
Frothers – Compounds that stabilise air bubbles so they remain well-dispersed in the slurry. They include alcohols, polypropylene glycols and tailor-made formulations.
Collectors – Reagents used to selectively adsorb onto the surfaces of particles. They greatly increase the contact angle so that bubbles adhere to surfaces. They included xanthate replacements, DTP/MTP, thionocarbamates and specialty blends.
Modifers – Influence the way collectors attach to mineral surfaces by increasing adsorption onto a given mineral or by preventing adsorption. Modifiers include NaSH replacements, depressants, dispersants and sulfidizing modifers.
