The team is competing in the Subs in Schools Technology Challenge, a prestigious STEM competition that brings together some of the brightest young minds in Australia.
The STEM challenge
The Subs in Schools Technology Challenge involves students designing and building a one-metre-long remotely controlled submersible capable of navigating an underwater obstacle course. Beyond fostering technical skills, the competition develops collaboration, critical thinking and innovation, while also contributing to the upskilling of a workforce prepared for future national projects such as the AUKUS submarine project.At the recent Subs in Schools State Finals, Team Aurora Systems showcased their ingenuity and dedication, earning the title of NSW State Champions and securing awards in 9 out of 12 categories:
