CEEC High Commendation – CEEC Medal Operational Category

Congratulations to Paul Shelley and Westgold Resources.

The CEEC Medal Evaluation Committee has recognized the work of Dr Paul Shelly, Global Vice President of Innovation and his team for their paper, 'SAG mill optimization insights by measuring inside the mill', presented at the Procemin-Geomet conference in Santiago, Chile in 2019.

In a first for the industry, this innovative approach collects data from sensors inside the grinding balls within grinding mills using cutting edge sensor technology developed by Dr Paul Shelley and his innovation team.

This research project was a collaboration between Molycop and Westgold Resources teams, with special thanks to Dimitrio Patsikatheodorou, Processing Manager who lent his time and support to this exciting initiative led by Dr Paul Shelley and his team.

The CEEC Medal is a prestigious annual award for the most outstanding published papers, articles or case studies profiling beneficial strategies for eco-efficient comminution.
