Congratulations Kara McDonald, who took home APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR-MANUFACTURING AWARD at the Hunter Manufacturing Awards 2019.
Kara obtained tertiary qualifications and worked as an exercise physiologist, before her inner desire to work in the electrical field saw her land an apprenticeship with Molycop.
Quickly showing all the ‘qualities that you look for in an apprentice’, Kara’s positive attitude and willingness to learn soon had her managing, designing and installing new safety systems within the Molycop plant.
The HMA judges said Kara’s achievements have demonstrated she would make an excellent role model. Kara is currently undertaking the Certificate 4 in Electro Technology and plans to articulate into the Advanced Diploma and then the Electro Technology Engineering Degree.
A huge result for Kara and a great outcome for the entire Newcastle, Australia. Well done everyone.
