Molycop manufactures grinding balls to exacting internal specifications at its grinding media production facility across the globe. Balls for use in mineral processing ball milling operations are designed for maximum abrasion resistance using high carbon content and high hardness levels.
SIZE Molycop manufactures forged grinding balls for use in ball milling and regrind applications in nominal sizes from 1.0” to 4.0” in diameter.
CHEMISTRY An individual chemical profile has been developed for each diameter ball to correspond with the requirements for heat treatment. Specific alloy additions are included to produce optimum physical properties. The chemistry of the balls is controlled through a close collaboration with our bar suppliers and robust internal quality systems.
HARDNESS Surface and cross-sectional hardness of the balls depends on the microstructure of the steel which is altered using carefully selected heat treatment variables specifically designed for each particular alloy.

With a wear performance up to 25% longer than the standard High Carbon Grinding Rod, the HTR50 has outstanding resilience and a hardness profile that has a high surface hardness and lower hardness core, we’ve developed a series of world-class grinding rods that’ll reduce mill consumption significantly.

HARDNESS: Although not treated to high hardness levels, special thermal processing is employed to ensure soundness and resistance to premature breakage.
STANDARDS: Grinding Rods are produced with a straightness tolerance of 6mm in any 1.5m of length or 4mm per meter run in accordance with various country standards.
PACKAGING OPTIONS: Grinding Rods can be cut to any length up to 6.4m and are supplied in strapped bundles with bundle weights or rod counts to suit individual customer requirements. The product can be transported in bulk by open top trucks, or in containers (dependent on the length of product required).

The Easy Release Liner Bolt is manufactured under patent. This unique product is designed to reduce removal time through the mechanical requirement of pushing thread through worn liners.
This product also reduces the risk of damage to the outer shell due to design. Another unique feature of the Easy Release Liner Bolt is the ability to reuse the bolt. The nut is the only consistent consumable.
Technical components of the Easy Release Liner Bolt are consistent with Mill Liner bolt range.
Our patented Easy-Out Bolts are designed to reduce the potential for personal injury, damage to equipment and shorten liner change-out times.
These Easy-Out Bolts design consists of a standard liner bolt which has been modified to be used in conjunction with a specially designed moil fitted to any standard hydraulic or pneumatic hammers. Both the Easy-Out Bolts and moil are custom manufactured and supplied by Molycop to suit specific customer requirements.
After removing the nut, the moil is inserted into the bolt end. Without the need to remove recessed or seal washers the bolt can be driven out of the liner and completely clear of the mill shell in one movement. Recent trials at a large copper concentrator have shown that bolt removal time was halved by using Easy-Out Bolts. The positive location between the moil, or drift, and the bolt eliminates the risk of mill damage due to misalignment of hydraulic hammer moils or sledgehammer damage around bolt holes. The use of Easy-Out Bolts also improves safety by removing the need for a man between the hammer and the mill.
